Camp Calvin Crest
Dave Gazzetta — Coordinator
Camp Calvin Crest is a 250 acre camp and retreat center near Fremont that is nestled in scenic fields, hills, woods and trails overlooking the Platte River. The camp provides a place for spiritual and personal growth year round for over 10,000 youth and adults every year. They host camps, conferences, retreats and programs for children, youth and families, and offer a wide variety of facilities, meeting services, delicious meals and staff support that make every event comfortable, unique, memorable and meaningful. The beautiful setting provides an environment that renews mind, body and soul.
The mission of the camp is providing quality Christian programs
in a recreational environment, to equip people to walk with
Jesus Christ, and to serve with a greater love for God and
others.
The camp is in constant need to updating and repair and Presbyterian
Church of the Cross Mission Committee plans regular work
trips to camp Calvin Crest to assist. We typically complete
a wide
range of projects that help keep the camp going. In the
past, we have hung drywall, painted rooms, repaired quilts,
rewired
and hung lighting, and most recently cut railroad ties and
rebuilt a major retaining wall. Announcements are made in
the fall and
spring regarding when work trips are scheduled. If you are
interested in learning more or in signing up for upcoming
work trips,
contact the program coordinator.
